American Council on Exercise promotes active, healthy lifestyles and their positive effects on the mind, body, and spirit. American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance’s (AAHPERD) mission is to promote healthy lifestyles through high-quality programs in health, physical education, recreation, dance, and sport, and to provide members with professional development opportunities.

America WALKs is a national coalition of local walking advocacy groups dedicated to promoting livable communities where people can walk. They offer advice about how to get started and how to be effective with public officials and engineering/design professionals.
